Homemade Pizza

Ingredients for Basic Pizza Dough
- 275ml Water
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 450g Carrs Breadmaker Strong White Flour
- 2½ tsp Fast Action Dried Yeast
Method: Bread Machine
Follow the manufacturers’ instructions regarding the order of liquid/dry ingredients, and set your machine to the dough/pizza setting. - When the dough cycle is complete, turn the dough out and quickly knead on a floured surface. Divide in half and roll into a round large enough to cover an oiled and flour-dusted 30cm/12in pizza tin.
- Cover with topping to within 2.5cm/1in of the edge, cover with oiled foil, then, for a thin crust, refrigerate the prepared pizza for 30 minutes before baking or, for a distinct puffy edge, leave the pizza to rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C/425F/Gas 7 for 20-25 minutes.
Suggested Toppings
Margherita >>
- 5 tbsp Passata
- 4 Medium Tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 200g Mozzarella, sliced
- 12 Fresh Basil Leaves, torn
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
Napoletana >>
- 4 tbsp Tomato Puree
- 200g Mozzarella, grated
- 1 tbsp Fresh Oregano, chopped
- 1 x 50g can Anchovies in oil (sprinkle the oil on top of the pizza)
Cheese and Pepperoni >>
- 5 tbsp Arrabiata Sauce
- 100g Pepperoni, sliced
- 1 tbsp Fresh Oregano, chopped
- 200g Cheese, grated
- 2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese, grated.
